Multi-copy Requesting for WRLSWEB Libraries
by Charles Clemence, Winding Rivers Library System
This tip
only applies to WRLSWEB members. Others may be interested but won't find
it useful.
When
requesting multiple copies in WISCAT, always reserve available WRLSWEB
copies first. Then wait until they get into the status of Transit Hold
(all copies) before entering your requests. If you follow this procedure
the WISCAT software will skip the WRLSWEB libraries when it sees the
Transit Hold status and go on to libraries outside the consortium.
If you don't
want to wait there are a couple of other options. If you disable the
automatic approval in your staff log in to WISCAT the requests will stop
in Awaiting Approval status. You can then remove all WRLSWEB libraries
before approving the request. The same thing can be accomplished by
entering a book club user into WISCAT, then logging in and requesting as
that user. Again you can delete the WRLSWEB libraries from the Awaiting
Approval requests. Obviously, waiting for the Horizon status to change
is easier, manipulating WISCAT faster.
