September Quilter of the Month

By , 19 September, 2011, No Comment

Now that the Cheese Fest quilt show has wrapped up, it’s time to focus on September’s quilter of the month, Bridget Barczak of Blair.  Bridget’s quilts are whimsical and very creative, boasting bright colors and strong designs.  On display alongside Bridget’s wonderful quilts are some cherished family heirlooms made by her grandmothers and her mother.  This display of four generations of quilts is a must-see and will only be on display for two weeks until Saturday, October 1st.  Be sure to stop in during regular library hours to view this local quilt artist’s work.

Quilts Needed

The Blair Cheese Festival is just weeks away, and that means the library is planning for its 2nd annual Quilt Show!  If you are a quilter and would like to put your work on display, please contact Kris McNamer at the library.  We also accept heirloom quilts or any quilts you may own-it is not a requirement that you have made them yourself.  We accept all sizes of quilts for the show, from miniatures to table runners to king size creations.  This is a non-judged show, and entries are accepted on a first come, first served basis.  The show takes place on Saturday, September 17th from 9-4.
