Friends of the Library
Greetings, friends! For those of you not familiar with Friends of the Library, we are a non-profit group of interested individuals who have a strong goal of helping our local library with library details, fundraising, and other endeavors to constantly improve, maintain, and grow our local library. Our monthly meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM in the library.
We've been busy these past few months. Projects we've been involved in include selling candies to raise money for new projects, sponsoring a guest speaker in June which featured Caddie Woodlawn as a kickoff to our summer reading program, hosting a book sale in June to raise proceeds to fund future projects, donating money to buy additional audio/visual materials and books for our library, and professionally cleaning the carpet in this facility.
Upcoming events we will be working on include hosting a book and bake sale on the first Saturday in November, working to obtain a small copy machine for the library's use as well as providing copies to library users at a minimal cost, working to purchase additional shelving for library materials, and saving toward computer equipment in the future.
Your input and support here is always valuable in regards to improving Knutson Memorial Library. We strive to continually upgrade and provide the newest reading/visual material for our users, as well as strong maintenance and steady improvements to our building. If you have ideas, we would love to hear them!
New friends of the library are always welcome and needed. As you know, budgets and budget cuts create many problems and obstacles; however, with your help and initiative, we will strive to overcome these obstacles and provide a great facility with strong support from within.
