Read to Rover is coming to the Taylor Memorial Library!
Read to Rover is a program sponsored by the Coulee Region Humane Society. A volunteer handler will bring their certified therapy dog or cat to the library and children ages 5 and over can read out loud to the animal.
Studies have shown that reading to a friendly canine or feline partner helps to alleviate anxiety and build confidence in children. Especially children who are reluctant readers or who may struggle with reading. But your child doesn’t have to be struggling – they just have to love animals!
Our first visit will be from Luna the Cat and her handler Karla on Tuesday, November 18th from 5:30 – 6:30pm.
Call the library to register for a ten minute session with Luna!
Read to Rover will be offered at the library every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 5:30 – 6:30 through December. You may sign up more than once. Frequent readers will have the opportunity to earn a free book!
