New Library Building Task Force

The need to construct a new Library for the City of Viroqua is a topic members of the Viroqua Library Board have been discussing for over twenty years.  In December of 2008 the Library Board voted unanimously to begin working on plans to construct a new Library for the City of Viroqua.  Five members of the Board agreed to be the founding members of a planning committee titled the Library Task Force.

Early on in the planning stages the Library Task Force made the decision to work on constructing a multi use facility for our community with the heart of the complex being a new public Library.  Today, we have partnered with existing businesses and organizations to create a plan that would develop the Viroqua Public Library Cultural and Wellness Center.  Details of the plan are highlighted in our Request for Qualification’s document.  A link to the document is provided here Viroqua Library RFQ 7-22-2010 .

We are encouraged by the level of support we have received for this project already from community residents, businesses, and our municipality.  The multi use facility we are proposing will be a destination point and one our community will be proud of.  We look forward to continuing our work on this project.
