Lori Bessler has been researching family and local history for over 40 years.  She has been a librarian at the Wisconsin Historical Society for over 30 years.  The scope of her work is international and she’s developed many strategies to assisting researchers in this field.  Attend this online meeting to hear her stories and come with questions to ask this “old” librarian.

WRLS WeeWorkshop: When A Service Desk Isn’t Enough

Tech help is one of the most difficult types of assistance a library can offer as the range and uses of technology has increased while the availability of instruction booklets has decreased. Join Zander Miller of the Kenosha Public Library share his experience with creating a library service for patrons that is empathy-focused (rather than tech-focused) to assist patrons with one-on-one technology support. Learn how Zander and his co-workers at Kenosha Public Library have created a model that has impacted the style and result of one-on-one tech help in the public library.
